Patrons rave about the generous servings at The Plough. The homemade desserts like the warm chocolate brownie and sticky toffee pudding steal the show, praised for their rich flavors. The inviting atmosphere creates a friendly space where family celebrations thrive. Customers appreciate the attentive staff who consistently provide excellent service. Those who come for drinks enjoy the extensive beer and wine list, with many locals highlighting the vibrant Sunday roast tradition, which always draws a crowd. The outdoor seating area offers a pleasant spot to unwind, particularly during warmer months, making it a popular choice for a relaxed afternoon.

Most Disliked

Some visitors note that during peak times, such as Sunday afternoons, the pub can become quite crowded, impacting service speed. A few guests have mentioned limited menu options for those with specific dietary preferences, though the chef is open to adjustments on request. Additionally, while outdoor seating is lovely, availability may be limited on busy days, potentially leaving some patrons waiting for a table. It's also worth keeping in mind that the pub’s rustic charm includes some quirks; patrons have occasionally found that noise levels can rise during busy hours, especially on nights with special events like karaoke.

We enjoyed a delightful family meal here on Friday evening in celebration of my husband’s birthday. The main course was tasty and generous and the desserts were absolutely delicious! Some of the best desserts we have tasted; especially the warm chocolate brownie, cheesecake and pavlova - all homemade, so with a richness and depth of flavour that is rarely found with desserts bought-in from wholesalers. Lovely and friendly atmosphere and welcomed our two dogs with no qualms. We’ll be back! Would highly recommend.

Lovely little pub located in the tiny village of Hyde Heath, just across from the small common. A set of tables and chairs affords a lovely outdoor location for enjoying a cool beverage on a hot day! The service was delightful, the young barmaid extremely helpful and friendly, and the servings were generous! At least the nachos were, which is what we ordered. I am hoping to return and try the fish and chips.

Met some good friends for Sunday lunch yesterday. The roast dinner was excellent as usual. Rabbit pie was also on the menu which was an absolute hit with those of us who had it. Nathan did a fantastic job yet again. We will be back for more.
